To Simba, Who Was A Great Cat

Monday, December 17, 2007, we put our cat Simba to sleep. He was 13 years old. I needed to write this to remember him.

Simba was talkative.
Simba was the most playful of our cats.
Simba was a lightning-fast mouser.
Simba was Charlie's older brother. She followed him everywhere.
Simba liked to play with helium baloons on a string. He carried them from place to place in his mouth.
Simba was the best at cuddling.
Simba was great at playing fetch, and he always dropped the "ball" at the end. When he was younger, he would play until he was completely out-of-breath panting. I did not teach him to play - he just did it.
Simba liked to eat.
Simba liked to eat butter.
Simba liked to eat plastic. And the noisier, the better.
Simba liked to open up the cupboard with the plastic bags in it and go in there and hang out.
Simba was a tabby.
Simba liked to sneak outside through the front door.
Simba had a German accent.
Simba had the badass eyes of a Lion.
Simba was very big. He once startled a police officer at our door (we called in a noise complaint) with his size.
Simba was extremely patient with children.
Simba was orange.
Simba loved to sit on your lap if you were a guest. Especially a if you were guest with a cat allergy.
Simba had little tufts of fur that stuck out of his paws. He did NOT like for them to be touched.
Simba had a funny ear. He got it from a hematoma after shaking his head too hard when his ears itched.
Simba could relax like nobody's business.
